Who says candy’s just for kids? We’ve teamed up with the legendary Pearson’s Candy Company, located right here in Saint Paul, to bring you Nut Goodie Porter, a porter aged on chocolate, peanut butter, and maple to mimic the flavors of their classic Nut Goodie bar.
The idea was to create something uniquely Saint Paul-oriented. Every Minnesotan knows Pearson’s Candy, and every Saint Paulite is familiar with their headquarters along West 7th. Originally created as a variation of our Lecky Scottish Ale, this Nut Goodie-inspired infusion sold out of our taproom in just two days.

Since then we’ve created infusion versions of our Barrel Shifter Porter that were met with similar excitement, culminating in this year’s Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild Autumn Brew Review, where despite running out of an entire keg in less than an hour (those were some thirsty and eager festival goers!), the Nut Goodie Porter was awarded Best Collaboration of the festival.
The first iteration of this infusion recipe as a porter, released for our 4 Year Anniversary Party in June.
At last, we’ve finally graduated this beer from a taproom infusion all the way to the Spark Series. Coming in at 6% ABV and a smooth 30 IBU, cans of this rich, decadent brew will start hitting liquor stores shelves across the metro between October 8th and the 19th (don’t worry if you can’t find it right away, we’re already brewing more).
The Nut Goodie Porter Tap Release is Friday, October 12th here in our taproom, where will have free Pearson’s Nut Goodies available with a pint purchase while supplies last, as well as food from the Freedom Truck, the new truck from the non-profit Stories Foundation that fights human trafficking here in Minnesota. As an added treat, each pint of Nut Goodie purchased will come with a Golden Raffle Ticket for a chance to win a private tour of Pearson's Candy Company with up to 4 of your friends! We'll draw the winner at 8pm (must be present to win).
