Packaging Assistant

Job Summary

Tin Whiskers is looking for a PART-TIME Packaging Assistant to join our production team. Packaging Assistants should be passionate learning and growing, and be excited to be a part of the growing craft beer industry. In this position you will learn a lot about beer and the brewing process as well as other aspects of the business, which opens other future roles in the company as we continue to grow. We are a small company where every single employee has an impact, and that is why we strive to get input, ideas, and feedback from all employees from everything on beer offerings to marketing ideas to employee benefits.


Job Requirements:

  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Have a desire to learn new things and grow with the company
  • Available to work a minimum of 2-4 shifts per week (20-30hrs per week)
  • Must be available to work between the hours of 8am-5pm on weekdays per the schedule
  • Possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members in a collaborative environment
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keg, 16oz cans and 750ml can (crowler) packaging
  • Cleaning kegs and safely operating the keg washer
  • Moving packaged product to coolers
  • Build distributor orders for shipping out
  • Handling raw materials in a clean and safe manner
  • Communicate efficiently with all staff and management
  • Maintain paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
  • Perform quality control and quality assurance testing
  • Actively find improvements for the beer and our processes
  • Adhere to Safe Practices at all times and always use personal protective equipment
  •  Must be able to lift 55 lbs and move 165 lb kegs with a hand-truck/pallet jack

 

Benefits:

This position is part time and is paid hourly. Compensation is $14/hr. You accrue and can use Safe and Sick Time per Saint Paul’s ordinance. The position also include beer perks. Paid holidays and health insurance benefits are not part of the compensation package, but we offer a matching retirement plan. When possible, work schedules are made for a month at a time so you can better schedule other aspects of your life and interests.

Beertender

Job Summary

Tin Whiskers is looking for a PART-TIME Beertender (bartender) to join our team. Beertenders should be passionate about service, have a desire to learn and grow, and be excited to be a part of the growing craft beer industry We are a small company where every single employee has an impact, and that is why we strive to get input, ideas, and feedback from all employees from everything on beer offerings to marketing ideas to employee benefits.

Tin Whiskers has 16 beers on tap with new beer releases every week. We offer our beer in a variety of sizes and to-go options. We do not have a kitchen, but our guests are welcome to order food from area restaurants, or to bring their own food with them.

We are open the following days currently as part of the Covid-19 pandemic (these hours are subject to change):

  • Monday-Wednesday: 2-8pm, to-go only
  • Thursday-Friday: 2-10pm, taproom service and to-go
  • Saturday: noon-10pm, taproom service and to-go
  • Sunday: noon-6pm, to-go only

Our non-pandemic hours are:

  • Monday-Thursday: 4-10pm
  • Friday: 3-11pm
  • Saturday: noon-11pm
  • Sunday: noon-8pm

Qualifications:

  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Have a desire to learn new things and grow with the company
  • Available to work a minimum of 1-2 shifts per week
  • Must be available to work between the hours of 1pm-11pm on weekdays and 10am-12am on Saturday and 11-9 on Sundays.
  • Possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members in a collaborative environment
  • Must have ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system (POS)
  • No previous POS experience required.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
  • Be able to work in a bar environment


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Exceed customer expectations and cultivate positive, lasting relationships with customers.
  • Maintain an inclusive, safe, and healthy taproom environment.
  • Learn the names of, and personally recognize, regular guests.
  • Notify Taproom Manager any time a guest is not 100% satisfied with their experience
  • Fulfill all beverage orders from guests using a point-of-sale system (POS); pour beer from tap
  • Accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make change (if necessary)
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the taproom throughout the shift, including counters, sinks, shelves, storage areas, and clearing glassware from the bar and tables
  • Wash and sterilize glassware, rinsing all beer glasses prior to pouring beer into them, and complete all additional shift-related sanitization tasks as required
  • Routinely check the cleanliness of the bathrooms and clean/restock supplies as needed
  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to Taproom Manager or President
  • Sell merchandise and manage inventory; assist in taking inventory and restocking items as needed
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings
  • Bring your own suggestions and ideas for improvement.
  • We will provide training on the following areas:
    • Explaining, describing, and recommending Tin Whiskers beers to guests
    • The story and philosophy of Tin Whiskers
    • The basics of the brewing process and fundamentals of beer
