Tin Whiskers is currently hiring a Beertender, Cellar Technician, Brewer, and Brand Ambassadors.

Beertender:

Tin Whiskers is looking for a PART-TIME (1-2 shifts per week) Beertender (bartender) to join our team.  Beertenders should be passionate about service, have a desire to learn and grow, and be excited to be a part of the growing craft beer industry. We are a small company where every single employee has an impact, and that is why we strive to get input, ideas, and feedback from all employees from everything on beer offerings to marketing ideas to employee benefits.

Tin Whiskers has 16 beers on tap with new beer releases every week. We offer our beer in a variety of sizes and to-go options. We do not have a kitchen, but our guests are welcome to order food from area restaurants, or to bring their own food with them.

Our hours are:

  • Tuesday-Friday: 4-10pm
  • Saturday: noon-10pm
  • Sunday: noon-6pm

Qualifications:

  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Have a desire to learn new things and grow with the company
  • Available to work a minimum of 2 shifts per week
  • Must be available to work a shift between the hours of 10am-11pm on weekdays and 10am-11pm on Saturday and 11-7 on Sundays.
  • Possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members in a collaborative environment
  • Must have ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system (POS)
  • No previous POS experience required.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
  • Be able to work in a bar environment


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Exceed customer expectations and cultivate positive, lasting relationships with customers.
  • Maintain an inclusive, safe, and healthy taproom environment.
  • Learn the names of, and personally recognize, regular guests.
  • Notify Taproom Manager any time a guest is not 100% satisfied with their experience
  • Fulfill all beverage orders from guests using a point-of-sale system (POS); pour beer from tap
  • Accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make change (if necessary)
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the taproom throughout the shift, including counters, sinks, shelves, storage areas, and clearing glassware from the bar and tables
  • Wash and sterilize glassware, rinsing all beer glasses prior to pouring beer into them, and complete all additional shift-related sanitization tasks as required
  • Routinely check the cleanliness of the bathrooms and clean/restock supplies as needed
  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to Taproom Manager or President
  • Sell merchandise and manage inventory; assist in taking inventory and restocking items as needed
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings
  • Bring your own suggestions and ideas for improvement.
  • Working a shift filling crowlers.
  • We will provide training on the following areas:
    • Explaining, describing, and recommending Tin Whiskers beers to guests
    • The story and philosophy of Tin Whiskers
    • The basics of the brewing process and fundamentals of beer

  

Benefits:

This position is part time and is paid hourly. Compensation is $10/hr plus tips for taproom labor and $14/hour for doing crowler filling. You accrue and can use Safe and Sick Time per Saint Paul’s ordinance. The position also includes free beer perks. Paid holidays and health insurance benefits are not part of the compensation package, but we offer a matching retirement plan. When possible, work schedules are made for a month at a time so you can better schedule other aspects of your life and interests.

Cellar Technician

Tin Whiskers is looking for a FULL-TIME Cellar Technician to join our team.

This position  will report directly to the Head Brewer. A Cellar Technician participate in all facets of cellar operations and brewhouse cleaning and including but not limited to fermentation management, keg cleaning, packaging of beer in kegs and bottles, CIP and maintenance of all tanks, and beer transfers. This position has a strong potential for growth into wort production and other aspects of the brewhouse.

We are seeking hardworking, customer focused, flexible teammates, who are capable of problem solving, and able to work independently.

  • Package kegs, 16oz cans, 12oz cans, 750mL crowlers, and 750mL bottles
  • Daily Quality Control/Quality Assurance
  • Daily Gravity checks and recording
  • Brewhouse, Fermenter and Brite tank CIP and maintenance according to company SOPs
  • Moving packaged product to coolers
  • Cleaning kegs and safely operating the keg washer
  • Performing beer transfers from one tank to another
  • Cleaning and prepping tanks
  • Handling raw materials in a clean and safe manner
  • Communicate efficiently with all staff and management
  • Maintain paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
  • Perform quality control and quality assurance testing
  • Actively find improvements for the beer and our processes
  • Operating our GEA centrifuge- training will be provided.

  • Adhere to Safe Practices at all times and always use personal protective equipment
  • Attendance at events and beerfests
  • Updating our brewery management software according to processes.
  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs and move 165 lb kegs

Brand Ambassador

Job Summary

Tin Whiskers is looking for a PART-TIME BRAND AMBASSADOR to join our team. We are seeking hardworking, customer focused, flexible staff who are capable of problem solving. 
 
The Brand Ambassador is a key member of the Tin Whiskers team and an integral extension of our brand in the community. Customer service skills are highly valued in this position, as many people’s first impression of the Tin Whiskers brand will be you!
 
A passion for excellent craft beer is a must! You will learn something new each day and use it to cultivate raving fans. We are looking for motivated, fun, creative and passionate people willing to share their love for craft beer and are connected to the craft beer community.
 
The most qualified candidate will become part of the Tin Whiskers team. 
 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and developing customer relationships
  • Provide samples of our products at our liquor stores and the occasional bar or restaurant
  • Attend beer festivals and other beer pouring events on evenings and weekends
  • Work with our Sales team on event promotions and POS items
  • Educating accounts and customers on our brand and products.
  • Fill in the taproom if/when needed
  • Record keeping of number of samples given and number of units sold.
  • Safely drive to tasting location 
  • Be able to lift 165lb kegs into and out of a cargo van as a team of 2
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and sustainable environment

Qualifications:

  • Have a clean driving record and a current Minnesota driver’s license

  • Must have good record keeping and business communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local craft beer market, consumers, and retailers
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Great presentation skills
  • Proven reliability and consistent, strong work ethic
  • Strong desire to grow professionally with the company
  • Strong organization and time management 
  • Become a Certified Beer Server within 30 days of starting employment
  • Personal Alcohol Server Training within 5 days of starting employment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • A passion for excellent craft beer is a must! 
  • The ability to think on your toes and be ready for anything. Nothing is constant in the world of craft beer!
  • Very strong communication skills – Be able to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people in varying environments while maintaining a professional demeanor.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
  • $12 per hour, including travel time.
  • $0.22/mile driving reimbursement (must file a tasting/event feedback report to claim. Mileage is to and from the event.)
