Mitchell Finnegan - Beertender

Mitchell Finnegan - You know him as 'Mick'

What is your position with Tin Whiskers?

How long have you worked here?

Since October 2015

What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to read - mainly Sci-Fi, but I also love Dostoevsky, Walker Percy and Oscar Wilde. I also play video games and watch a lot of movies (huge Christopher Nolan fan).

What is your favorite style of music / band?

Radiohead, Wolf Parade, Wakaflaka Flame

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

New Orleans. Apart from the amazing food, I hear it's an incredible place that feels unlike anywhere else in the world.
I also just read about a ghost town on the border of Tennessee and North Carolina called Lost Cove that has a hiking path through the forest that's supposed to be incredibly tranquil. I've always liked exploring hidden away places full of history like that.
Besides the basic necessities, what do you need / do every day to make yourself happy?

I need books that present different/unique ideas for me to challenge myself. And a good stout to help me mull it all over.

What is your favorite part about working at a brewery?

The atmosphere. Everyone is there to have a good time, enjoy the beer and the company.

If you had to pick one style of beer to describe yourself, which style would it be and why?

Probably a Rye IPA. I like to think I can be a bit a bit complex/interesting yet still easy going and just a touch spicy.

What is your favorite Twin Cities hang out spot?

Nina's Cafe or The Nook

Anything else you want the world to know about you?

I'm Minnesotan born and raised, but spent a few years in Kansas for school for Mass Communication and Catholic Theology. I took a Chemistry of Beer and Wine class and have been expanding my knowledge of beer on my own since then.
