Winterfest Preview: Barley and Wheat Wines

Tin Whiskers is excited to be a part of Winterfest 2015 put on by the Minnesota Craft Brewer’s Guild.
For two days, Friday February 27th and Saturday the 28th, guild members will pouring to the public at Union Depot in downtown St. Paul. Winterfest provides a great opportunity for beer lovers to try beers from across the state, some of which that are not regularly distributed in the Twin Cities Area.

Tin Whiskers will be serving favorites that are currently available at the taproom including Wheatstone Bridge, Lecky Scottish Ale, and Barrel Shifter Porter. Additionally we will be debuting two specialties for the public, a Wheat Wine and Barley Wine. Head Brewer Derek Brown describes what people can expect from each:

“The Wheat Wine is right golden and yellow appearance. Aroma is spicy, bright fruit and orange peel. Taste is spiciness up front, slight warming balanced by sweet Orange and coriander with big bright fruit notes and finishes tasting of honey. Mouthfeel is a medium body and moderate carbonation.”

“The Barley Wine is dark copper to brown with tan head. Aroma is malty and of molasses, slightly fruity and raisins. Taste is biscuity and toffee, molasses, dried fruit and slightly warming from alcohol. Full bodied and chewy.”

Winterfest 2015 should be a great event for all. It provides an opportunity to try all of the amazing beers from numerous local breweries that our great state is currently producing. Tickets for the two day event are still available and can be purchased below:
