Tin Whiskers Wins Big at New York International Beer Competition

We’re beyond excited to announce that we’ve been named the “Minnesota Brewery of the Year” at the 2021 New York International Beer Competition! On top of that, we have also won gold medals for both Lowertown Lager and Phobos Dark Sour, as well as a bronze medal for Blueberry Wheatstone Bridge.

“This win is a serious testament to the talent, drive, and dedication of our brew team. Head Brewer Mike Willaford and his team, including Assistant Brewer Julian Pelkey and all around Brewhouse Teammate/Delivery Driver Montana Davis, have shown over and over again that they can produce an incredible variety of beers -- from crowd pleasing pastry stouts and sours to clean and crisp lagers to wildly inventive beers like Phobos, and we couldn’t be happier to see them get the recognition they so deeply deserve,” said Operations and Marketing Manager Andy Bobst.

This set of wins joins a growing collection of awards for our team, including a 2018 Great American Beer Festival medal for Wheatstone Bridge, multiple wins at the Beer Army Beer Wars (in both 2018 and 2020), and a City Pages Best Of in 2019, among others.

Want to try these award winning beers? All three are on tap and available to go through our Lowertown taproom now! Order yours online here.
