It's that time of the year again, even though the unseasonable weather makes it hard to believe. We like to call the Barrel Shifter Porter our snowblowing beer, but the lack of snow is making us change our tune. Regardless of the brown landscape, the temperatures have dropped and we are entering hibernation mode, and what else to keep our bellies warm than this winter warmer.
This is the second brewing season for the Barrel Shifter Porter -- A full-bodied porter aged on American oak and cherry wood producing notes of vanilla and cherries, ringing in at a hearty 7.5% ABV.
Barrel Shifter Porter arrives just in time for cooler temperatures. “It is a perfect everyday winter beer. The wood adds a lot of depth and complexity needed during what should be our cold winter months. With any wood aged beer, it takes a lot of patience to ensure the flavors are at their optimal levels and balance and our patience has definitely paid off.” notes Jeff Moriarty, President 1/3 Founder Tin Whiskers.
This seasonal treat will be available in 22oz. bombers for the first time to the retail market on December 21st.
Look for it on tap around the Twin Cities starting December 30th, and be sure to come down to the Taproom on Friday, January 8th for the offical Taproom release party!
