Tin Whiskers recently hosted our Grand Opening Event with great success! A day filled with beer, music, merchandise, ribbon cutting, and even a few surprises, we had a great time and an excellent turnout.
We kicked off the event with an speech from Jeff Moriarty, followed by Mayor Chris Coleman saying a few words and accepting the gift of a Tin Whiskers work shirt. Be sure to give Mayor Coleman a high-five if you see him wearing it - we inscribed the words “The Mayor” on it so you can’t miss him!
Jeff pulled out all of the stops in his speech, even encouraging Mayor Coleman to approve the recently passed legislation regarding taproom hours. Jeff said, “I want to thank Mayor Coleman and the city council for enacting legislation to allow the brewery to be here today, and we anxiously look forward to him approving for taprooms to be open on Sundays...hint, hint…”. Very stealth indeed.
After we made the event official with the ribbon cutting ceremony, we celebrated with some music from the Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band. They were a really fun group, marching around the taproom playing their bagpipes. The highlight of the evening was when Mayor Coleman surprised us all with a bagpipe duet, borrowing a bagpipe from the band and playing a tune. We had no idea he played the pipes!
At the Grand Opening we also released our two newest beers, Ampere Amber and Short Circuit Stout. We received many compliments on both styles, and continue to sell them like crazy. If you haven’t been in to taste the new brews, be sure to stop by soon!
We are happy to have both the soft launch and official opening now under our belts. We love the neighborhood and look forward to continuing to brew new beers.
Thanks for your support throughout our opening weeks!
