Here at Tin Whiskers, we are made up of a fine group of people who love what they do.
Each month, we will feature a different member of our staff so you can get to know us better.
Taproom Manager, Andy Bobst, is a friendly and familiar face around the Taproom.
What do you like to do in your free time?
If I'm not at the taproom, I'm likely in another taproom or trying new brews at The Happy Gnome. Otherwise, I'm probably shopping for records at Eclipse or Hymie's record stores. Or catching a baseball game if it's nice out. Say "hi" if you see me!
What is your favorite style of music / band?
Local music all the way.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
Gotta knock out the beer capitals of Belgium and Germany.
Besides the basic necessities, what do you need / do every day to make yourself happy?
I try to listen to one song by a musician I haven't heard anything by every day. It's a cool exercise with some really hit or miss results, but it's good to challenge yourself. This works well for choosing what beer to have next too.
What is your favorite part about working at a brewery?
Getting to meet new people every day and already know that we have a passion for great beer in common. Getting to teach people more about a product that they love or share our story with people who have been drinking our beer elsewhere and decided to come check out our operation firsthand.
If you had to pick one style of beer to describe yourself, which style would it be and why?
I'm definitely a Barrel Shifter Wood-Aged Porter: smooth, a little sweet, but not rich.
What is your position with Tin Whiskers?
How long have you worked here?
Since July 2014
What is your favorite Twin Cities hang out spot?
Gotta love catching a show and sipping on a beer at the Turf Club.
